Yesterday, was looking for friends for dinner. MSN with Victor, know that he, Hh, and Sichuen are going for dinner together, so i decided to join them.

Sichuen suggested a place to eat at Pandan Indah, the place is called Tsim Tung Restaurant. It was a long journey that cost us RM8.80 just for the toll money.

The types of food that they’re selling are similar to those at Kim Gary, just that the food here are nicer. I quality and the ingredients they used are better i think. Thus, the food are more delicious. The prices are similar also with Kim Gary.

P.S: The food here is nice, but doesn’t worth the trip there. So I guess this will be the only time I’ll ever eat at this place.

Yesterday, Jacque and SiewMei came find us at our new place to have dinner with us at Cova, a bistro in The Gardens. The food there was okay. Had some good times catching up with Jacque as we haven’t seen her for quite some times.

Cova café, lounge, bistro. This place had a thing called the beer buffet, from 5pm-9pm daily, you can drink all you can with the price of RM48 (Tiger), RM58 (Heineken), and RM68 (Kilkenny). So if you’re a beer lover, this is not a bad place to drink.

Jacque also brought a friend along, Adrien if I’m not mistaken. Apparently I saw her a few times already, but just can’t recognise her. Haha. Oh ya, she’s also Sue-Ann’s friend.

The copywriters waiting for their food.

SiewMei with her sweet signature pose. She looks like a school kid with her new hairstyle (the fringe). But then it suits her and give her the fresh look.

Jacque was complaining about her sandwich. Hehe. She didn’t know what she ordered because the menu was not clear enough. She tot she ordered the roasted honey chicken.

Posing with a serviette.

Jacque’s wrongly ordered Sandwich.

SiewMei’s Mushroom Salad.

Want some rabbit food from Little Rabbito?

Jook’s Carbonara

And finally, my Classic Beef Burger.

The Duck King Restaurant @ Jaya One

Went to this reataurant called Duck King on Wednesday. Because Waihoong and Sue heard a good review from David, saying that is damn good.

After some googling, found out that The Duck King is actually already quite popular in Indonesia, and only around 3-4 months ago, it flew to Malaysia. And the only one around now is at Jaya One. So there we go at night to Jaya One.

The resraurant is located at the corner, opposite Secret Recipe. Once you open the door, the nice smell of duck meat is just nicely flowing inside the restaurant. Smells good.

This is the logo on the menu. Gives me a feeling that the duck is giving a middle finger.

They actually sell their menu for RM1,500.

The paper quality is very nice and thick, the imagery also not bad. But RM1,500…

This is what David recommended to Waihoong also. Deep-Fried Durian Pancake!

Siewmei joining us for the dinner.

Waihoong can’t wait till the dessert comes.

The Duck King’s Chopstix.

Sue-ann and Brian came a little while later after they finished their work.

Suddenly, a scent of durian flew-by from another table, and Sue-ann’s sensitive nose couldn’t take it. Haha… she don’t like durian at all. (Siewmei is just acting there… hahaha…)

So here comes the food, this is 北京鴨. Looks good, but i couldn’t really taste the duck. Although is only the crispy duck skin inside, but there should be some taste of the duck right? All i can taste in this dish is the sweet souce. Because this is my first time eating Peking duck, so i don’t really know if this is the true taste of Peking Duck dish.

This is the meat of the duck from the dish above. X.O. 醬炒鴨片. Again with the same problem as the dish above. All i can taste is the X.O. souce and a little spicy meat. The meat itself is tender, but you kinda don’t know what meat you’re eating. Dissapointing duck dishes from The Duck King.

This is the 芙蓉蟹扒自制豆腐. Homemade Tofu, nice.

This vege dish is for those who don’t like vege. It’s called the 香港芥兰二味. 2 different ways of cooking the same vege. One side is the normal one, and another side is deep fried. Very crispy and tasty.

惠洲梅菜花腩煲. Very nice also, the pork is very soft.

There are 3 types of rice here, the white rice, and this is the 海南油飯.

And this is the 3rd type, 頭抽豬油撈飯. Using pork fat to mix with the rice. Very porky, not for those who don’t like the strong pork smell.

After we finished eating while waiting for our dessert. Sue and Brian – Satisfied.

Siewmei with her crooked peace sign.

Trying to imitate the crooked peace sign. haha…

The dessert is here. 楊枝甘露. Mango dew with sago and pamelo.

This is the one Waihoong and me is waiting for. 酥炸果中之皇.

Can you see the durian filling inside… so soft… very nice dish for those who likes durian.

Sue-ann took a small bite, and almost finished the tea from the pot… hahaha…

Overall the food is great, except for the duck, which is very weird from a restaurant that is expert in duck. I think i’ll come back and order some other duck dishes to see if it’s that bad or it’s actually very good.

Dinner with Shyng and Lay @ Sushi Zanmai 1U

After my routine swimming session at meng’s place, I called Shyng, as she told me before that she’ll be working on that day and i can look for her for dinner (cos her work place is quite near my swimming place). Mr. Lay also joined us cos he is also working on a saturday. Haha…

How did we end up at Sushi Zanmai is because of Karen. She went to eat that day itself also, after she tried it she SMS us and told us the food was really good and fresh there. Not a bad recommendation… hehe…

We need to wait and queue before we can eat… *boring*… (I guess this is quite normal nowadays for newly opened restaurant inside shopping centres.

So I queue…

And Shyng is queueing also and posing…

Sushi Zanmai is the second “Zanmai” restaurant opened in One Utama, another one is located near TGIF at the old wing of One Utama, it is called Pasta Zanmai. But i never tried that before…

People in front of us…

This is how the Sushi bar looks like from the front door…

This is what it’s like on the right side of the entrance…

Finally we got seated…

The Menu…

Light fixtures around the restaurant…

Standard set of “Sushi-eating-must-haves”… similar to other Japanese restaurants…

The sashimi there is not expensive at all…

This is a view from our table, we can see chefs cooking inside…

The conveyor belt carrying assorted Sushis on top, you can start eating right away!

“Wah! This plate very nice, can take ar?” said Shyng…

Our food arrived, this is the small Chicken Katsu Don, hmm… i’m not sure how’s the big one is like…

This is the Ebidon, the prawns were quite fresh…

Hah… my favourite, Sashimi… the way they cut is different from Sakae Sushi, the size of each slice is not as big, but a plate with 7 slices of Sashimis cost only RM13… is that cheap or what…

Gyu Enoki Roll… the flavor was good enough…

Finally Mr. Lay arrived and start eating right away… haha… he must be damn hungry…

Shyng having her Chicken Katsu Don…

Lay ordered this Stamina Roll, it was quite good…

Not sure what is this called, but the arrangement of the food was quite new to me… haha…

Sashimi is never enough… so we ordered our second plate…

Hotate Teriyaki… this is quite good except it tasted a little bit fishy… so you need to squeeze some lemon juice on top, then it’ll be good…

Forgot what is this called… quite chewy and nice…

Like the texture on the cup, feels like a rock surface, and it feels like it’ll not break if you dropped it… haha…

There, a picture of the satisfied customers…
