Went to Bali last week, took the whole week off for the vacation. When I came back to the office on Monday, this is what I saw. What a warm welcome back from my dear colleagues.
Still doing some filtering on the photos I took from Bali to be blogged. Will do it as soon as possible.

Went to Singapore last weekend to attend this convention called SIGGRAPH which held in Suntec City. 7 of us, me, Brian, Sue-ann, Tony, Jook, Tiffany, and Chinling, went down to Singapore by a night train on Friday night 9:30pm. But the train was delayed for half an hour. No biggy tho. Experienced night train (those with bed) once in 2005, so it’s nothing fresh for me.

Can’t really sleep at night, took my camera out and snap some motion of the train.

This is my space. With my bags, can’t really consider comfortable. But I’m guessing it should be better than those sitting ones.

After many hours of train ride, procedures, and walking, finally reach where we going to stay at around 7 something in the morning. The thing is we can’t check in yet so early in the morning. So we put our luggage there at the lobby, then went to wash up a bit and get ourselves moving to have some breakfast. This place that we stay is just off Orchard road, behind The Paragon shopping mall. So it’s really convenient.

Walked to this place under Paragon to eat our breakfast. It’s a small shop called Ah Mei Cafe. The toast there is really good.

After the breakfast, walk some more to the nearest MRT station, got ourselves tickets to City Centre station, where the convention is held. In the photo you see Tiffy waiting for the MRT.

Not too cramp inside the train. Too early to be packed on a Saturday. We reached our location around 10am. Registered ourselves, and prepared to walk in and see some interesting things. The bad thing was no photography are allow. So… no photos lar from the convention.

After we finished the 1st part of our convention/exhibition, we went down for lunch before continueing our 2nd part. This is the food court at the ground floor of the convention centre. It’s called Food Repuplic. The theme there is really nice. Looks like from some Harry Potter movie.

The food court were pack with hungry people. Luckily the food there was not too expensive.

The 2nd part of the schedule was just animation watching. Got some nice animations we watched. And there’s a Korean animation that made me fell asleep. Even the guy behind me agreed with his snoring sound. Watch around 6 or 7 animations, we’ve felt that it’s enough, so we left the place and go walk walk around Suntec City. Here’s a shot of Tony and Jook waiting for Brian and Tiffany while they checking out some gadgets.

Much awaited place to be since we’re all damn tired. We’ve booked 2 service apartment units to cater for around 13 persons, but only 7 of us turn up. So that means we can sleep better with more space to “look” around. Hahaha. Above shot is the living room.

This is the master bedroom.

And this is where i slept. Simple and nice.

The dining table became our place to put our stuffs.

This is the view from my room.

After some resting, is dinner time! Walk our from our room to eat around 7pm.

Dinner was on Brian, thanks dude. He brought us to this place call NYDC inside this mall which i forgot the name. The food there was nice.

Brian and Sue-ann ordering food.

Tiffany reached the place a bit later.

After the dinner, I met up with Ailin. I asked her to bring me around to do some shooting. I still got a lot to learn in shooting street at night.

This shot and the above shot was shoot by 50mm. Gotta like the bokeh!

After Orchard road, we took the MRT to City Centre again. But this time we walked to another direction. Here you can see a very nice skyline of Singapore. Above is a picture of the 1st Singaporen Casino in the making.

Ailin on the bridge with the Durian and Singapore largest ferries wheel.

This is part of the skyline in Singapore. Very nice.

Finally a picture of me posing in front of the famous Singapore Merlion.

Helped Ailin took 1 photo with the Merlion because this is the 1st time she’s here also. Hahaha. We chit-chat at this place for some time, then we headed back to Orchard.

Buffet breakfast included the next morning.

We have to check our from the service apartment before 12pm, so after our breakfast, we went back to our room, pack up, and go to the lobby to put our stuffs. Because our bus back to KL is at 5pm and we wouldn’t want to carry all the luggage with us. After everything done, we went walking… again.

Jook, me, Chinling, and Tiffy is in this picture.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Lucky Plaza. A place where most foreign workers like to hangout. Damn a lot.

It rain and stop and rain and stop on that Sunday.

After Orchad road, we went to Peninsular Plaza to look for some camera stuffs. But then you can see from the picture, they close on Sunday. WTF!

A very pretty church on our way back.

After some hours of bus riding, we’ve finally reach KL. And that concluded our little trip to Singapore. It was tiring because of all the walking. Didn’t manage to meet up with some other friends due to the tight timing. Next time… next time…

Last day here in Tioman, felt the time passed too fast. Haha. Woke up a little later, head to foyer area for breakfast.

Chicken porridge. Not bad for resort standard.

Designated area for our company.

Bumped into Sue-ann, so asked her to be my test subject for a while. Hehe.

Back to room, need to pack everything and prepare to leave already…

Zaheer, can said he’s in-charged of this whole trip (of cos with the help of Tiffany). He lost his slippers somewhere, so he had to wear the room’s slippers.

Waihoong, brought his laptop there to play World of Warcraft. He even missed the group photo just because he wanted to play game so much. Anti-social~

So here’s the committee of the Swingers. President: Eve, Vice President: Zaheer, and Treasurer: Tiffany. Thank you guys.

Group photo before leaving the place. Me and Aivee was not in this picture because both of us are shooting using our own camera. But we appeared in Sue-ann camera’s group photo.
She got the most complete one.

Going through Custom before waiting at the jetty area. A lot of people doesn’t know that Tioman got duty-free shops also. So that’s why we need to pass through the Custom.

Sue-ann cut queue. Brian pissed. Sue-ann don’t care. Brian can’t do shit. Haha.

X-Women 1: Yippie

X-Women 2: Justine

Waiting for the ferry to load up before we can get in.

Tired smile from Tiffany.

Brian and Sue-ann sat next to me on the ferry ride.

Aivee and Jook sitting behind me.

Motion sickness pills. I’m not sure whether this actually works, or I’m better in dealing with motion sickness already.

Oopsie~ puke alert at “Kuantan 192″ road sign. Peishan suffering from motion sickness.

That’s it. 3 days 2 nights of Tioman trip. Of cos not enough. But better than nothing.
Woke up quite early on day 2 trying to take some nice morning photos. Since the day before i slept quite early, so I’ve walked out from my room around 8am. Very nice feeling, warm sea breeze, quiet, and the sound of wind blowing against the tree.

A very quiet morning at Tioman. I’m not sure whether is it normal with no people on the beach so early in the morning.

Of cos have to shoot some floral photos… hehe…

I think that’s the Clubhouse for those golfers.

This kinda small roads can bring you all around Berjaya Tioman. It’s their main road inside the resort.

Goal post waiting to be strike by footballs.

This pic gives me the feeling of a university field more than a sea side.

A nice shot of Tiffany posing with her “beach-ready” bag.

Silhouette of flowers.

Aivee, another DSLR bearer in the office. One of the most experience.

Pickers’ colour very contrast with the background.

She trying to be patriotic. Hehe…

Yippie waiting for the bus to go to the diving centre.

Ben acting cool with his snorkle gears on.

Sue-ann, afraid of water, but still want to take the challenge of going snorkeling. Respect.

Yippie acting cute with the snorkling gear.

Tiffany adjusting her snorkle gear very seriously.

David laughing at Brian on how he looks with the snorkling gear.

Waihoong been very pissed of all the waiting and people coming late.

The one with the official diving license going for a snorkling trip. Piece of cake.

The jetty to our rides. 12 people on one boat. Going out in 2 boats.

Quite a long ride, Yippie took a nap on the boat.

Latest fashion in town! Life jackets!

Waiting tired of waiting again before we got to our spot.

Everyone went down to snorkle except for me, I was just there to take some pictures. Hehe.

Pickers shooting waihoong swimming towards her using her Olympus water-proof camera.

A white beach near the place we snorkle.

See how clear is the water!

2 boats parked side by side.

One of a rare shot that Aivee actually look like a girl! Hahaha…

Jook was nicknamed Mer-Jook after this snorkeling trip.

Yippie, afraid of the fishes, screaming like mad when the fishes swim near her.

Those people on the boat was eating mixed-rice, they keep on throwing food down the sea, that’s why you see so many fishes here.

A shot of David creating a small scale Tsunami in Tioman.

Ben trying to fly without wings. Lol.

This is Jook with the pose of a bird after being struck by lighting. Hahaha…

John with a perfect backflip dive.

Next spot for snorkeling is near those rocks.

Tiffany resting on the rear of the boat.

An
other shot of Tiffany having a fish spa therapy.

Sue-ann and Ben enjoying themselves.

Going to the 3rd snorkeling spot. That’s the other boat.

Sue posing on the boat.

We asked Aivee to give us a pose. And this is her best.

Sue asked me to take a picture of her and Brian.

Group picture of my boat crew. Haha…

Reached the Jetty and damn hungry. So we headed for lunch at the foyer area.

Me cam whoring in front of the mirror with Chinling’s camera behind me.

After lunch, went back room to shower, then come back out again to go swimming. Before that, I heard some of the going shoot some hoops, so I walked to the basketball court to check it out.

Syam didn’t go out to snorkle with us, here she is renting a bike to ride around the resort.

After swimming, went back room again to shower and prepare for dinner, passed by the game room and guess who I saw. Hehe. Yippie, David and Meng there playing Mahjong la. Yippie said she didn’t know quite well how to play, but ended up she won. :

Dinner time! Steamboat! Didn’t manage to take many shots from the dinner because don’t have a flash gun and the lighting was too dim there.

After the dinner, there’s the bonfire session where everybody drinks again! haha… Here’s the 2 pile of wooden planks for our fire.

One of the pile of woods fell early, creating this unbalance fiery shot.

On the ground, there’s actually writings of “Arachnid” and “Slipknot”. Took this shot after the fire died out because you can really read it with the fire on.

People warming up. before they became crazy.

Some people chilling at the pondok there.

Tiffany didn’t get drunk tonight because she was moving around dancing and having fun.

Drinking on the beach. Nice.

Aivee trying to jump over the fire posing like Mario.

More people sitting on the beach drinking and chit-chatting…

Tiffany performing her fiery dance. She’s really a performer as you can see from her expression. Smiling all the way.

Jook the parkour lover. Jumping over fire? Not a problem.

Ben’s turn. Can’t imagine that he actually jumped quite far.

Hahaha. Sue-Ann acting fear. Quite bad acting! Lolz…

Aivee helped me shoot this one, but the timing was wrong.

There’s a lot of things happened on that night, which i didn’t manage to shoot. But Aivee got a lot of those not so proper shots.
Went to Tioman Island last Friday on the 7th of November for a 3 days 2 nights company trip. It was quite a nice trip (for me to try out my new camera). Was a bit messy on the schedule, but can see that Zaheer and Tiffany trying all their best to sort things out.
Quite a bit of funny, gross, and new stuffs happened on the trip, adding to the experience of the whole trip. Took damn lots of pictures, but only can share so much here.
hope you’ll enjoy them.

Bus depart from office around 6am in the morning, had some mamak breakfast on the way to Mersing jetty.

Reach Mersing around 12:30pm but missed the ferry. Stranded there for around 2 hours to catch another ferry.

A nice shot of Sue-Ann eating her burger while waiting for the ferry ride at the jetty. Quite a few of them bought the burger there. The taste was not bad.

Finally got into the ferry after hours of waiting. The air-conditioning system was blasting like crazy inside the cabin. Freaking cold.

A shot of the back of the ferry, a patriotic ferry ride.

Finally reach Tioman Island after around 1 and a half hour ride of the ferry.

In a bus, on the way to Berjaya Tioman resort.

10 minutes of ride, reach the foyer of the resort, where we had hour super late lunch. Food was not bad.

This is where we’ll be eating for the next 2 days.

Sharing room with Brian and this is how the room looks like. Quite comfy.

Before going out for the duty free shopping, manage to get some evening shots of the beach. After hours of rides, finally touch the beach. Haha.

Crazy shopping, cigarettes, alcohol, cigarettes and more alcohol, then cigarettes then alcohol again. Crazy!

Dinner time when the lunch still haven’t fully digested. Not much appetite to eat. So walk around and took some pictures.

Close-ups of the foods! Hehe

After dinner was drinking session, got my tripod ready, and shot some long exposures. This pictures looks a bit fake, more like a stage backdrop than a real photo. Weird.

Of cos there’s light trails playing time. Took a lof of tries to get this right, 2 copywriters work on this one. Hehe. Jook wrote the “arachnid” and Justine wrote the “tioman”.
End of day one, went back to room and slept early to prepare for the next day.
It’s been raining almost everyday here in KL,
making the sky darker,
making the weather colder,
making the road jam-er,
making the walk slipperier
making the mood bluer,
and (not all bad)
making this shot nicer.

The rainbow was so nice, and we can actually see the whole arc of the rainbow at the windows behind where Brian is sitting. And there’s actually another rainbow next to the one in the photo, but it was too light to be captured. So, didn’t bother to capture it. Hope you enjoy the photo.
It’s been rainy the last few days, and sometimes KLCC and KL Tower will disappear from the sight. Here’s a shot of the view when there’s sun, and not raining.

New office, new view. This is what I see everyday after light. Not the best view, but a lot better than what I saw in Phileo. From this angle, you can see that the KL Tower is taller than KLCC, and the towers of KLCC overlapped. Hopefully we’ll be able to see some fireworks, during some celebrations.
The busy road you see in the picture is Federal Highway. And you can see the MNG billboard on the lower left of the picture.

Sue-Ann 躲在箱子的後面, 還在趕工, 太勤力了吧.
Phileo Damansara 1, Block A, 701. 我們會記得你的.
The question: How do you consider yourself successful in life/career?
Case 1:
Doing what you do, and trying to be the top of what you’re doing, but it doesn’t guarantee anything. With just enough money to survive your day to day life, with not much time for your friends and family, not even talking about raising one of your own. But hey, you’re good at what you do, and you like it. Successful?
Case 2:
Doing what you don’t really like, but you got the money to buy what you wanted, you got the time to be with the one you love. Raising a family and have good financial status to even send your kids to oversea. Successful?
I guess it all goes down to you and where you wanna go with your life. With the standard of living in Malaysia going up like nobody’s business, its really hard if you’re in Case 1. Of cos the dream of everyone will be doing what they like, and getting what they want. But how hard is that? Is time the factor in this case? You just have to persistantly persue what you like and in the end it’ll all pay off? When is the time to say “That’s it, I think I’m not going anywhere with this.”?
I think another consideration in this is, how much do you care about how other people look at you. I guess everyone sees a successful person as an individual who are able to buy big cars and live in big houses. That’s what I see also. A man able to drive a sports car, live in a big and nice house. Do you care about what he does for his living? Do you care about if he’s happy with his current job? The thing is he’s successful in life.
From there it kinda comes back to make you think that, is doing what you like really that important?
Do you consider yourself successful?
I’m just crapping here because today I’m having a shitty day…
Signing off,
Someone that’s not being appreciated by the company.
